This is a really, really late post! Meant to post this tutorial up last month but you know, things just got away. One thing after another and this post was drafted and never posted. Missed the Father’s Day deadline but well, this would make a nice gift for Daddy on his birthday too! So, here we go…
These are some of the materials that you will need for making a clay cupcake
If the clay is too sticky and is stuck to your fingers, dab away the clay slowly with another piece of clay. Do not rub or pull at it.
To start, put some cotton into the cupcake case. Get ready some clay that you would like the shirt to be.
Roll the clay to a shpere and flatten it to a circle slightly bigger than the cupcake case.
Cover the top of the cupcake with the circle of clay and press down slightly at the seams to seal it.
To make the collar, roll out a strip of clay.
Flatten it slightly with your finger.
To make the collar, put the 2 ends together and shape it to an oval.
Place the collar on the cupcake.
Now let’s make the tie. Get some purple coloured clay(or any colour you desire). Roll it to a short “snake”.
Flatten and shape it to a teardrop shape. Leave some and roll it to a sphere for the tie knot.
Place the tie on the cupcake as shown in the picture.
Now let’s decorate the tie with some stripes. You can decorate it with dots if you want. But I will use stripes here as example.
Roll a long strip of light blue clay(or any other colour that you desire).
Use a scissors or a plastic knife to cut it into shorter segments.
Place the shorter segments on the tie, decorating it.
Now let’s make a pocket. You can omit this step if you want. Make a small round shape.
Trim off the top so that it is flat and shape it to a pocket shape.
Make an indent on the pocket with the knife and place it on the cupcake.
And it is DONE! :)
Hope daddy likes his cupcake!
